{"id":152,"identifier":"LOR-00152","url":"https://lifeofresearch.com/articles/152","title":"The Role of Estrogen and Progesterone in Hormone Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer","abstract":"Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among \r\nwomen, and is defined as a disease in which abnormal and \r\nuncontrolled growth of breast cells occurs, and these cells may \r\nbe transmitted to other parts of the body if the disease is not \r\ndetected and treated in a timely manner. The study of biological \r\nfactors associated with the growth of breast cancer is important, \r\nespecially hormones such as oestrogen and progesterone, \r\nbecause of the growth and reproduction processes of breast \r\ncells that are regulated.\r\nScientific studies have shown that some breast cells, including \r\nsome cancer cells, are expressed by oestrogen and \r\nprogesterone receptors. When these hormones are linked to \r\ntheir receptors, the growth and reproduction of some breast \r\ncancer cells may be stimulated. Therefore, the presence of \r\nhormone receptors was considered an important factor that is \r\nused in the classification of some types of breast cancer and \r\ndetermining their response to hormone therapy.\r\nAttention has been paid to the study of the relationship between \r\nhormones and breast cancer because of the role that estrogen \r\nand progesterone may play in regulating the growth of breast \r\ntissue. It was also explained that the relationship between \r\nhormones and the development of breast cancer is complex, \r\nand does not depend on the effect of only one hormone, but may \r\nbe affected by the interaction between hormones and their \r\nreceptors and various cellular and molecular factors.","authors":[{"name":"Safya Ahmed Abdullah Algazar","affiliation":"Damanhor university","orcid":"0009-0008-9084-961X"}],"type":"article","license":"CC-BY-4.0","keywords":["Breast Cancer","Estrogen","Progesterone","Hormone Receptors","Hormone Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer","Endocrine Therapy","Hormonal Signaling","Treatment Resistance"],"publication_date":"2026-10-28","version":1,"views":3,"downloads":9,"created_at":"2026-10-28 21:44:56","doi":"","source":"","source_url":"","files":[{"id":161,"name":"Research 1-2.pdf","size":281842,"mime":"application/pdf","downloads":9,"download_url":"https://lifeofresearch.com/articles/152/files/161/Research%201-2.pdf"}]}
