This research reviews the neurological mechanisms underlying chronic migraine, focusing on cortical spreading depression, neurotransmitter disturbances, and the role of the trigeminovascular system in pain processing. It also discusses the development of migraine classification, recent advances in understanding the disease, and current treatment approaches. Recent developments, including calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) antagonists and neuromodulation techniques, have provided new options for migraine management. In addition, lifestyle adjustments, stress management, and keeping a migraine diary may help individuals recognize patterns and manage their symptoms. Overall, understanding the neurological mechanisms of chronic migraine is essential for improving diagnosis and developing more targeted and personalized treatments. Further research is needed to improve treatment outcomes and address the continuing impact of chronic migraine on patients' lives.","authors":[{"name":"Safya Ahmed Abdullah Algazar","affiliation":"Damanhor university","orcid":"0009-0008-9084-961X"}],"type":"report","license":"CC-BY-4.0","keywords":["Chronic Migraine","Neuroscience","Neurological Disorders","Cortical Spreading Depression","Neurotransmitters","Trigeminovascular System","Migraine Treatment","CGRP Antagonists","Neuromodulation"],"publication_date":"2026-10-28","version":1,"views":52,"downloads":4,"created_at":"2026-10-28 22:00:00","doi":"","source":"","source_url":"","files":[{"id":162,"name":"Neuroscience .pdf","size":56860,"mime":"application/pdf","downloads":4,"download_url":"https://lifeofresearch.com/reports/153/files/162/Neuroscience%20.pdf"}]}
