{"id":177,"identifier":"LOR-00177","url":"https://lifeofresearch.com/software/177","title":"What AI Cannot Do: Limits of Artificial Intelligence and the Role of Human Creativity","abstract":"Artificial intelligence (AI) is powerful at processing data, but it does not imagine, discover\r\nor decide on its own: it recombines what it was trained on, while humans notice new\r\nproblems and invent new solutions. This paper examines six limits of current AI:\r\nimagination and creativity, discovery of new technology from a newly found problem,\r\npatience and adaptive execution, medicine discovery and scientific prediction, marketing\r\nstrategy grounded in local context, and understanding of language, proverbs and\r\nsituational meaning. For each, it contrasts howAI works (pattern learning from past data,\r\nresponding only when prompted) with how people work (curiosity, waiting, retrying, lived\r\nexperience).
