Policies
Content policy
Life of Research accepts scholarly and research outputs: articles, preprints, datasets, theses, reports, posters, presentations and research software. By uploading, you confirm that:
- You hold the rights to share the work, or have permission from all rights holders.
- The work does not contain private personal data of third parties, malware, or unlawful content.
- Author and metadata information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Records that violate this policy may be withdrawn by administrators without notice.
Licenses
You choose a license at upload time. We recommend CC-BY 4.0 for maximum reuse with attribution, or CC0 for datasets. The license applies to the uploaded files; metadata is always public.
Withdrawals
You may withdraw your own records at any time from your dashboard. Withdrawn records are removed from public view, search and the API; the identifier is never reused.
Takedown requests
If you believe a record infringes your copyright or contains inappropriate content,
email pranaymahendrakar@sonytech.in with the record
identifier (for example LOR-00042) and a short justification. Verified requests are
handled promptly, and the record is removed from public view, search results, the API and the
OAI-PMH feed.
Privacy
We store the minimum needed to run the service: your name, email, optional affiliation/ORCID, and the content you upload. We do not sell data, run ads, or use third-party trackers. View and download counters are aggregate and anonymous.
Preservation
Files are stored on managed hosting with regular backups. This is a best-effort free service; for works requiring formal long-term preservation guarantees, consider depositing in an additional repository (e.g. Zenodo) as well — multiple homes make research safer.
